The principal mission of the East Fishkill Police Department is to protect the rights of all persons within its jurisdiction—to be free from criminal acts, secure in their possessions, and able to live in peace. The Department serves the people of East Fishkill through professional law enforcement and remains accountable to the community it protects.
The Department is composed of a highly trained staff of more than 26 sworn officers and 10 civilian employees. Serving a population of approximately 30,000 residents, the East Fishkill Police Department covers over 50 square miles and 180 miles of state, county, and town roads. Since 1992, the Department has been recognized by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services as a fully accredited agency and continues to maintain that distinction.
Dispatch services are provided by Dutchess County 9‑1‑1 and East Fishkill Police Assistants. The Department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, responding to both emergency and routine calls. Officers conduct criminal investigations and lead community programs including School Resource Officers, Too Good for Drugs, Too Good for Violence, and public safety lectures. Certified technicians also inspect and install infant and child safety seats, appointments may be scheduled through the Department.
